I’ve created Fledgling Democracies as part of my Masters degree program at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Because things are changing so rapidly in Russia and the former Soviet republics, the region is fascinating to watch from current events and international relations perspectives. I’m especially interested in the influence of NGOs and how Russia’s particularly hard-line stance towards them plays out in the near future.
